Sliding Compound Miter
The TR215, 8 1/2" Sliding
Compound Miter Saw, is the newest addition to Freud's power tool lineup. The
design was dveloped by first focusing on the best cut possibel with a miter
saw and the blade required to make this cut. The saw was then designed around
that blade. This saw offeres a combination of precision, cut quality, portability,
and a price that is matched by no other miter saw on teh market. Freud's name
is synonymous with the highest quality saw blades. So even before we started
designing the machine, we brought in the expertise of our leading cutting tool
engineers. Most manufacturers usually select a blade for the saw based on cost,
while some even go so far as to equip their saw with old fashioned steel blades.
This saw is equipped with an industrial quality, carbide tipped thin kerf blade
specially designed for this machine to provide the cleanest cut available. We
knew you would expect this from Freud, the worlds innovator in saw blade technology.
One of the first differences
you find in this tool is the size of its cast aluminim base. The base gives
the saw excellent stability while remaining compact enough for easy transport.
The effective work area of the base is twice as wide as toher saws. It is also
equiped with positive stops at 0, 15, 22 1/2, 30 and 45 degrees. For setting
an angle close to a positive stop, our special design option allows you to disengage
the positive stop with the teist of a lever. Careful attention was also made
to the size and design of the miter locking lever to be sure it would remain
out of the way and not interfere with the operator.
The saw has a powerful 9.7
amp universal motor. This, in combination with the blade diameter and kerf width,
provides a maximum amount of torque at the cutting edge. It is also equipped
with an electronic brake to bring the blade to a quick stop once the trigger
is released. The motor travels on two solid steel rods guided by four precision
linear bearings. This bearing arrangement provides full contact with the rods
which all but eliminates side play.
Again, this saw offers a combination of precision, features, portability, and
price that is not matched by other miter saws on the market, and will privde
the high quality cut that is synonymous with the Freud name.
